I couldn't resist myself from finding out what this stately building sitting right adjacent to the Morgan Library & Museum was, not just because of this pompous look, but also because of the flaunting flag of Poland at the entrance.

As I approached it, guessing it may be the Consulate General of Poland, the door name plate said, "Konsulat Generalny Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej w Nowym Jorku." Yes, it was the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland.

Then I soon saw this statue familiar to me. I instantly recollected where I had seen it. The statue of this gentleman playing chess was the one I had seen at the campus of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
It was Jan Karski, the Polish diplomat who worked to reveal details of the Nazi genocide in Poland. He is viewed as a hero in Poland and this statue is titled, "A Just Man."

I had an early dinner at an Italian restaurant, Piccolo Café, right across the Polish Consulate General. It was actually more of an osteria than a ristorante.

The menu they gave me was such an extensive that it took me long to decide, but I ordered Lasagna alla Bolognese.

It was so creamy being a good combination with spinach.
