Headed to Columbus Circle for a concert, Michael Feinstein at the Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Got to Columbus Circle and looked up at the glass towers of the Time Warner Center, feeling a bit nostalgic.

Entered inside and proceeded toward Jazz at Lincoln Center.

The concert schedule displayed beside the elevator made me very excited as I was trying to ride on it.

On reaching 5th floor, I saw the view of Central Park out the window ahead.

Since there were still 30 minutes left before the concert started, I admired the spectacular view of Central Park and buildings on the Upper East Side.

I strode upstairs two steps at a time to the Appel Room.

Michael and the Tedd Firth Big Band appeared on the stage at 7:00p.m. as scheduled.

I had recalled Michael Feinstein’s concert at Blue Note Tokyo I went in late August of 2007.

But on this day, the content of the program was quite different.

The concert was titled “The Enchanting Lena Horne,” and there were guest singers, Nnenna Freelon, Alexis Morrast, and Christine Ebersole, in tribute to Lena Horne, one of the most popular African American entertainers of the 20th century.

Above all, Christine Ebersole’s "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man" was so impressive that I would never forget it.

As the shades of night fell, I was truly on cloud nine with their amazing songs and the stunning back views of buildings lit up and traffic lights along the 59th street. And this was the very moment that made me feel that I was really back in New York.
