So the 4th of July came. I headed to Constitution Avenue where the parade was to be held. Since there was still enough time, I made for the Washington Monument. This gigantic obelisk was under repair with protective scaffolding, and yet it was surrounded by US flagpoles which obviously representing 50 states. As I Constitution Avenue, I got amazed to see huge crowds stting on the steps of the National Archive. Yeah, that might be the best spot to see the parade. Everyone was getting ready now, waiting for the parade to begin.

Just before 12:00 noon, the parade started off wth young people with a big star-spangled banner. I liked the group of gentlemen in suits of colonial armies the best. This really was the 4th of July parade!
