| Before I departed Assisi, I stopped by the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, Saint Mary of the Angels which was located near the train station at the opposite side of the town. | The tiny frescoed 9th century oratory was located under the apse of the Basilica. |
Inside the oratory, there was a cell where San Francesco died in 1226. |

| Just outside the Basilica, I found another statue of San Francesco which looked the same as the one I had seen at the cell in the Basilica. | Outside this 16th century Basilica, I stood right in front of it awhile and tasted the last moments of peace here with San Francesco under the Umbrian sun. | I could certainly delve into the world of San Francesco in Assisi and farewelled to the City of Peace. |
