Arrived at Assisi Station at 7:30pm. It was a nice little station. As soon as I got out the station, a medieval hilltown of Assisi appeared in front of my eyes! This is the birthplace of San Francesco.

I was supposed to take a bus from the station to the town of Assisi, but I was magnetized to the fantastic view of the town and my feet were heading towards it without really thinking how long it would take me to get there.
The sun was setting and casting a golden glow. It was sheer beauty.

The town, the golden wheat field, trees, all were shining reflected by the sunset. I felt like I was in the dream. It was getting dark as I was ascending the hill. Soon I was very glad and excited to find the Basilica di San Francesco lit up high up the hill.

It was 8:30pm as I reached my hotel room. As I opened a window, there was this church, the Chiesa di San Pietro, right in front.
The sun set over the calm Umbrian Valley.
