Day 2
Deià, Mallorca
Balearic Islands, Spain

Left Valldemossa and headed up for Deià, a coastal village on the slope of the range. This is supposed to be the center of Deià but I saw no one around there and it was so quiet. As I roamed around the narrow cobblestone streets of the town, I found a religious plaque on the wall of each house.

Each plaque has a different scene from the Bible. From the top of Deià, I glanced over houses, a tennis court, and orange or olive groves on the slope overlooking the Med. It was a spectacular view, and I couldn't help envying the people who live there. What an extraordinary town it was! I farewelled to Deià heading back to Palma.

On my return from Deià, I passed Valldemossa again.
