On the day 2 in Mallorca, I headed again for Valldemossa. The weather was excellent. I was feeling more relaxed than yesterday as I knew the place. |
Yet, each time I see the sign, telling me the direction to Valldemossa on my way, I still got excited. |
I saw olive and almond groves on both sides of the road. |
Very rocky mountains began to rise before my eyes. |
In the mid-19th century when there was no modern transportation system, Chopin and Sand must have had a hard time climbing up the steep rocky slopes with their stuff in the winter. Chopin came to this island to stay away from France and to convalesce from his illness, but as I looked at these rocky mountain ranges, no wonder his health went worse during his sojourn in Mallorca. |
Getting higher and closer, I could see the Monastery where Chopin lived among the pretty houses of Valldemossa. |
