Day 2
Valldemossa, Mallorca
Balearic Islands, Spain

Back to the Chopin monument and saluted him before entering the charterhouse, the Royal Carthusian Monastery.

So this is the Monastery that Chopin and George Sand lived from December 1838 to February 1839. The charterhouse was constructed back in the 14th century and was inhabited by Carthusian monks.

After passing through the church, I found the long cloister hallways.

And on the left, I found the cell No. 4 that says "CELDA CHOPIN." At last! So this is the room Fryderyk Chopin rented. I found his writings, paintings and memoriabilia. The Pleyel piano Chopin used was in display of course.

And outside was a small pretty garden. It was well designed and pruned. I overlooked the hillside from the garden. It had such a gorgeous view, and I could clearly tell the road I had taken to get here.
